Namma Yatri Expands Operations to Delhi, Aims to Onboard 50k Auto Drivers in 3 Months

Namma Yatri, the auto-hailing app on the government-backed open network for digital commerce (ONDC), has expanded its operations by foraying into Delhi. The app, which already offers auto services across seven cities, aims to onboard 50,000 auto drivers in the national capital over the next three months.

Namma Yatri has developed a unique business model that facilitates direct rides between users and drivers, cutting out aggregators such as Ola and Uber, which charge commissions as high as 30%. The app has already onboarded 6,000 auto drivers in Delhi and aims to further expand its reach by offering better services to both drivers and customers.

In September last year, the app rolled out two subscription slabs for auto drivers on its platform, which include a flat INR 25 fee per day for unlimited rides. The app also offers a better service to drivers by providing an additional flat INR 3.5 for each ride, post which there will be no levies for the day.

Namma Yatri’s entry into Delhi marks a significant expansion of its operations and underscores the growing demand for innovative mobility solutions in the country. With its unique business model and focus on providing better services to drivers, Namma Yatri is well-positioned to capitalize on this demand and emerge as a major player in the Indian auto-hailing market.
