Product Manager – Metallurgy

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to join our team. The Product Manager will play a crucial role in the development, management, and promotion of our casting powder products. This role requires a strong understanding of product formulation, customer trials, and product management, as well as the ability to engage with customers in the steel industry through frequent travel.

Responsibilities:

• Product Formulation: Collaborate with the R&D team to develop and refine casting powder formulations that meet the evolving needs of the steel industry. Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and competitor products to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
• Customer Trials: Coordinate and oversee product trials with customers in the steel industry to demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our casting powder solutions. Collect feedback from customers and collaborate with the R&D team to make necessary adjustments and improvements to product formulations.
• Product Management: Develop and implement strategic plans for the marketing, distribution, and sales of casting powder products. Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to identify target markets, create marketing materials, and develop pricing strategies to maximize product profitability.
• Frequent Traveling: Engage with customers in the steel industry through regular visits to understand their unique requirements, provide technical support, and build strong relationships. Travel to customer sites, industry conferences, and trade shows as needed to promote our products and expand our customer base.
• Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging opportunities and potential areas for product expansion or diversification. Monitor competitor activities and market dynamics to inform product development and marketing strategies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in product management, formulation, or technical sales within the steel industry or related field.
• Strong technical knowledge of casting powder (mould flux) formulations and their applications in steelmaking processes.
• Proven track record of successfully managing product development projects from conception to commercialization.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
• Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites and industry events.
