We have an exciting opportunity to join our Loyalty Experience product team as a Senior Product Manager. You will be responsible for growing our loyalty member base across the Expedia brands, working closely with Technology, Marketing, XD and research teams and define a long-term vision, strategy and a robust product roadmap.
As a product manager in our team, you’ll deliver next-generation personalized experiences in travel. In this role you’ll lead development of the feature roadmap through conducting user research, analyzing the competition, defining the product strategy, understanding key product metrics as well marketing and supply trends.
In our product organization, you would be a member of a small tight-knit team of around twenty Product Managers who are collectively responsible for encouraging our travelers to become loyalty members and enjoy personalized offers in our brands. Your main focus would be on finding ways to simplify and optimize the experience where customers to become members or signing into their existing account
An excellent candidate will be passionate about the impact of product on the customer, constantly seeking for ways to improve conversion, retention, and engagement.
What You Will Do:
- Develop the product strategy, roadmap, business requirements and go-to-market (GTM) plan
- Generates ideas for developing deeper customer insights (i.e. new research topics and methods, new data sources, etc.) including ways to better quantify insights and build/utilize feedback loops
- Collaborate within team to evolve existing key performance indicators and metrics to discover new opportunities and uses dashboards to monitor and assess team business performance (e.g., efficiency and effectiveness)
- Focusing on the app experience alongside our website
- Define appropriate ranges for metrics and tells the story of the metric over time to understand when system is behaving normally. You will also proactively identify issues and take action to remediate
- Optimize authentication experiences including SMS OTP and other ways to join and become members
- Develop advanced frameworks to test hypotheses and understands the impact of more complex decisions in various scenarios, drawing upon thoughts and insights from different sources
- Simplify frameworks and/or make them easier for a broader audience to understand Effectively uses frameworks to share story/strategy
- Identify potential trade-offs across segments taking into account a variety of factors (product design, marketing, operational considerations, etc.)
- Partner with stakeholders and manager to develop new ideas for research, testing and feedback loops to better understand and quantify customer pain points
- Owns multiple, unrelated product areas
- Plan, facilitates development, releases, and measures product feature and/or products cross functionally. You will serve as the go-to person for stakeholders including engineering, design, content, for questions, clarifications and direction
- Apply feedback and data from measurements towards product improvements through test and learns and other testing methodologies to positively impact the business (i.e., cost savings, revenue, conversion, etc.)
- Manage backlog for product area and balances new features, bugs and tech debt
- Accurately answer relevant questions using functional information (e.g., legal, data/metrics and technical information)
- Build clear, concise and well-structured functional material (e.g., policies & procedures, guidelines, presentations, messages) and recommends improvements to existing material
- Communicate a compelling rationale and narrative to peers and partners
- Tailor communications (content focus, style, format, etc.) for different audiences as appropriate
- Lead discovery across cross-functional stakeholders to develop understanding of a shared problem, makes suggestions for solutions and recommends which solutions will achieve the most ideal customer or business outcome
- Make system changes leading to desired outcomes that are crafted to scale and ensures reporting (including feedback and/or data loops) is in place to gauge customer, business and system impacts
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field; or equivalent related professional experience
- 8+ years of Product Management experience for bachelor’s degree and/or 6+ years for master’s degree, applicable experience within technology / e-commerce
- Excellent communication skills; able to partner effectively with cross functional teams
- Experienced in core Product Management skills e.g., Agile Practices, communication, data science principles, listening, scientific method, reverse engineering, business acumen, influence and risk taking
- Understands how to improve performance of metrics
- Understands interdependency of metrics and metric relationships
- Experienced in owning product areas and related product development lifecycle
- Prioritizes new product features or strategic direction based on metric impacts
- Ability to pull your own insights with SQL, Omniture, and Splunk
- Experience in the online travel industry
- Knowledge of working with scrum teams in an agile environment
